I am a certified RYT200 Yoga Instructor with a practice rooted in the Astanga Yoga Darsana, including: Vedic Sankhya philosophy, Yamas, Niyamas, Asana Theory and Practice, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, Ayurvedic concepts and relationship, yogic anatomy and physiology, loops and spirals alignment, Prana, Chakra, Mantra, Mudra and teaching methodologies in practice and instruction as understood in the Krisnamacarya Lineage style and methodology.
I came to yoga at a very young age but did not begin to embrace the practice until I became ill in 2015. Yoga seemed to be the only place where I could practice gentle movement and find a sense of relief and peace at the time. It was through a dedicated yoga practice and other ayurvedic treatments that I was able to find my health again.
Over the last ten years I have worked with federal agencies, universities, and Tribal Communities in North America and abroad as a Cultural Anthropologist on projects that provide environmental, cultural protection, and racial equality and equity.
In 2023, I decided to officially become a certified yoga teacher. It was through my Yoga Teacher Training that I was reminded that the practice of yoga is to provide liberation for all. It was Krisnamacharya that said, “if you can breathe you can do yoga.” Yoga is for EVERYONE no matter your background. I think we need these lessons (or reminders) more than ever.
